  • About half way between Homer and Ninilchick I decided to stop at a parking area where there was a grassy opening with a view of the Cook Inlet and the mountains on the other side for lunch. As I moved on North it got more windy. Gas was only $4.62 in Ninilchick so I topped off the tank, and then grabbed a few supplies at the General Store across the street and North about 200 yards. Then it was off to Scenic View RV Park about nine miles North. Bob and Brenda were still there and as friendly as ever. It's potluck tonight. Brenda has a marinated tenderloin in the works and something else. There is another couple here from Wisconsin who were also at Scenic View sometime in 2006 when I was first here. Some salads coming from there. Someone else has an Apple Pie in the works and I have Chili brewing. The weather has closed in a bit and there has been the sound of light rain on the roof for an hour or so. But we should have a fun time tonight no matter what the weather.

Oh, Bob told me there is a moose with two calves that stays close by. Sometimes on one side of the campground and sometimes on the other. And they sometime just walk on through. Bob reminds me not to get between mom and a calf. "She'll kill you." I know.
