  • I forgot to turn off my alarm which was set to the time I normally would wake for work. Brooke and I stayed up too late and I drank way too much. But the dogs didn't care that I've only had three hours sleep—they wanted breakfast and an early morning walk. Brooke slept through all of it.

I told myself that I would make coffee and read my text for class. I am taking comparative religion online and have two quizzes on Hinduism and Buddhism due before midnight on Sunday. After taking care of the fur-balls, I sat down on the couch to read while I waited for the coffee to brew.

Suddenly, it was noon and I was waking up a second time.
