  • I saw him the first day I was here. I was shooting the mountains across Kachemak Bay. Suddenly I saw him fly past in my viewfinder. I looked and he was too far away for my landscape zoom lens. He perches in a tree out of range of my long lens and taunts me. He takes to flight often enough. But he is crafty this one. I should have the technology advantage. But I am on his turf and I'm sure he knows it. He flies just out of range or worse takes me by surprise. I'll be here a while longer. I expect he will too. Only time will tell who wins this game. It seems a little cowardly; it's only a camera. No harm will come. But the game is on.
