  • I can't really say I remember this story, but my grandmother told me so many times that it has become a memory. I was about four years old, and walking with my grandmother. We talked about what I wanted to become when I grew up. I told her I wanted to be a cowboy in America. America is really far away behind the apartment buildings. She laughed at me and my 4 year old concept of really far away. She said to me; but then I will be really sad, because you can't come and visit me. Don't worry grandma, I said;"When I am grown up you are already dead."

I am sort of grown up now. Luckily my grandparents are both still alive. The concept of relativity in physics can be a hard nut to crack for some students. For me it wasn't, I learned when I was really young that observations are influenced by time.
