  • I came into this world in the middle of World War II -- in a small town that was was going to be, within a couple of years, the target of massive bombing because of the iron industry in my town, which went back all the way to the Celts, and the fact that the war machine relied (and still relies) on the manufacture of steel -- I came feet first or head first, I cannot remember, even though it might have been the most important decision in my life.
