  • Woke up at 4:00 a.m. with bad, bad endometriosis pain. The pain was even part of my dreaming before I awoke.

D----- asked me recently how to deal with intrusive physical pain or symptoms.

Some people say go right into the pain, he told me.

Yes, sometimes when we resist the pain it makes it worse, I answered. I've experienced that with my endo.

I didn't tell him that focusing on the pain doesn't help me, either. Last night, guilty because he has cancer and I don't, I focused on the pain. Went right to the centre of it and sat down.

It didn't help. At 5:00 I got up and took some extra strength ibuprofen gel caps with a banana. The banana had a bruise near one end. I ate around it. The cats thought it was breakfast time and wouldn't stop meowing.

It takes 2 hours for the pills to start working. I have to keep taking them every 4 hours, or the pain will break through again. I'm not even bleeding yet. That's three weeks of pills.
