  • We,in the Western Coastal regions of South India depend
on the South West Monsoons. These rains are Life giving.
By May end, the temperatures soar and all of us long for
the rains. Every grey cloud is welcomed with great
anticipation, but the rains come only when it is the correct
    time for them to come.
The main topic of conversation is ‘rains’. All of us are
worried. So many trees are being cut down, construction
of buildings here, there and everywhere and bore wells to
suck out water from deep down. The water table would
definitely have gone down. In places wells which have
always had water the whole year through ,have dried up.
All of this will definitely have an adverse affect on the rains.
Human greed is the root cause for all problems, we do not
think about the future, what will happen if there is no water?

It has been rightly said that thousands can live without love
but not even one can live without water.

It has begun to rain and it was raining almost the whole day
yesterday. It is raining today also. The whole atmosphere has
changed , it has become cooler . There is a feeling of relief.
We are all praying that the monsoon season will run its full course.

"All was silent as before -
All silent save the dripping rain".
    ~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
