  • Travel can take you to some amazing places. Places so different to the world I come from. Travel stimulates my creativity until I get too tired and then I just want to retreat from new experiences. One place to retreat (although I hate them) is the shopping mall. Here you can find somewhere to sit, a bite to eat and a cup of tea. Here you could be anywhere in the world, well the English-speaking world, well the English speaking-dominated-by-white-people world! We sat for a while and watched the people around us. Few young people, elderly people sitting by themselves, older white women collecting the empty trays and wiping down tables. Cacooned from the world outside for a time, stuck in a mall void, feeling 10,000 miles from home, or as if it was just around the corner.
