  • I am not a religious person, but I have my own beliefs. I do not feel it necessary to go to church every Sunday to pray and give thanks, I do these things in my own way, in my own time.

However, I find all places of worship have a certain 'ambiance' about them. Maybe it is the calmness they exude, the peace and tranquility against the hustle and bustle of daily life or the serenity in which to contemplate and ponder life.

Perhaps it is the purpose for which they are constructed, their position on ley lines or just the space within the building itself.

None have touched me more than the Sacré-Cœur in Paris. I have only ever visited there a couple of times, but in those few fleeting visits, each time it has moved me. None more so than the feeling I had each time, that my Father was with me, standing next to me, his presence comforting.

Why there? I do not know, neither of us are Parisian or Catholic, yet he chooses this place and time to be with me.

I don't question it, I just accept it. For me, with Dad there, it is my Sacred Heart.
