  • The boy with the red shoes rode his bike in a real hurry. He had to be on time because he made a commitment and the bird had to be saved. He felt that the bird was miles away and that this ride was a battle between life and death. He had to save the bird.

Suddenly a women stopped him. She had black hair, a red star in her forehead and was blowing a perfect balloon out of chewing gum. She told the boy with the red shoes that the bird was already dead.

The boy with the red shoes didn't believe her and went on riding his bike with the dying bird on his mind. He taught that if the bird was really dead this woman must have some special powers.

Then he felt something and without letting his hands off the handles, he turned his head toward the woman in the exact moment the balloon blew out with a big bang. The bike then hit something and he fell off, getting ready to land on the floor and to feel pain.

There were no more red shoes, red stars or women with black hair.

Wondering why the crash took so long the boy said to himself "the bird will not be saved now".
