  • Life is a matter of choice and a matter of destiny. People expected me to become a doctor and I decided to become a writer. In the same way, I chose to start my new life in another town very far from home, leaving friends and family, because I chose to live with the love of my life.

But nothing would happen without destiny: I met my husband only because by accident I went the wrong way to the sea, when I was on holiday, and because he decided to go jogging in the countryside, far from his home, taking his car, going in the afternoon and not in the morning, as usual.

I was feeling so stupid, wondering why I couldn't reach the sea, driving along the sunny deserted sicilian countryside, and a little bit angry because of the lack of ANY road sign. Maybe Sicilians think that not everybody should know where places are, you can reach your destination only if you "deserve" it.

And then I met him along the way.

I asked him for some directions. I think I fell in love with him at the first sight.

He chose not only to explain me the right way, but he took his car and drove in front of me in order to be sure that I would really reach the sea. Lately he said that he felt in love with me at the first sight.

Since that day, we've never been apart.

I'm Elisabetta from Italy and I am glad to be part of cowbird community. Stories are the reason why I wake up in the morning, without them my whole life would lose its meaning.
