  • The first time I met these kids I took their portraits. The second time, I brought copies for them. By the third time, two of the kids had moved away. Their house was boarded up and neighbors didn’t know where they had moved. I began to understand the saying “I stay here” - rather than “I live here.” There is an inconsistency and temporariness to life here.
