  • Thank you, Anko, for the Paul Simon. "We" are so powerful, so connected, so networked; and there have never been as many people living in "democracies" as there are now. And yet, we are encouraged daily to think of ourselves as political non-entities, as just shoppers in the world market, or as pawns that those in power grudgingly take the time to propagandize.

    Does it take horrors of this kind (or smaller ones that happen daily) to spur us to action, or are the oligarchs right in their belief that we can be bought oh so cheaply and easily?
