☺ P.S: Hilarious the gems that you find placed in Wikipedia by magnificently ruined people with clever minds, tender hearts and a good sense of humour....

Here's one I found when I posted this story during my first week on Cowbird. It's what Wikipedia said as to how Fifty Six, Arkansas, got its name...

The widely known legend is that the community was named for School District No. 56. However it was actually named Fifty-Six after a Futurama quote in which Bender is commissioned to pick a number between 1 and 10. If he picks the right number, he dies first. His choice was Fifty-Six. A number which Roberto, the kidnapper, could simply not forget. Fifty-Six is located at 35°57′38″N, 92°13′48″W (35.960474, -92.230072). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.1 square miles (5.4 km2), all of it land.

This photo of me was taken in 1974 on a roadtrip with my love of that time during a semester break in graduate school. We were both studying Geography.

Futurama first aired in the US twenty-five years later...in 1999.

(I just checked Wikipedia again and found that this entry has since been revised. Bummer!)
