  • It had been a very hot day,the sun beat mercilessly down.Spike and Rollie huddled deep under the hedgerow. There were noises all around the, shouts ,screams, laughter and even tears, but nothing or anyone disturbed the two sleeping babies.
Soon,it was quiet again as it began to grow darker.Spike, always the first to wake up,felt rather than heard the approaching footsteps. He,carefully peeped out through one eye and thankfully saw it was the Tiger.Although ,he was not fully happy with the Tiger,at least she had not harmed them.He opened his eyes now and noticed she was carefully carrying a round thing, which she placed close down in front of the.
The smell was delicious,so Spike woke up Rollie and said "smell what Tiger has brought us"They both edged over to the saucer and after a good sniff, began to eat.Tiger, seeing they were happy scurried away then came back carrying another dish, this one full of milk. The two babies tucked in ,they were very hungry after so long without food.Tiger, just sat contentedly watching them.
When they had finished she asked them, how were they there, where they came from.Excitedly they told her about walking along with mummy hedgehog and the big bright lights that had hit them and how sad they were to lose their mummy.Tiger thought about this, then said,"right, whilst its dark you are safe and you can have a little playtime, but as soon as it gets light you must hide again".They both agreed to do what Tiger said,In the meantime said Tiger " I will go around and try to find your mummy.Off she went taking the two, very empty, bowls with her.
The two babies lost no time, they were all over their new found playground. There were footballs everywhere, swings and slides and a great big round thing. This puzzled them for a while, until they managed to get on to it.Rollie gave a little bounce and before they knew it they were both bouncing up and down on the springy mat.The time past very quickly and all too soon it started to get light.Remembering what Tiger had said they scampered off and hid themselves back under the hedgerow.

Will everything be alright for the babies....wait for the next instalment.....?????
