  • I hate advertising, in all its forms; magazines, newspapers, television, radio, the intrusion is unceasing and relentless, we are bombarded by adverts.

But, once in a blue moon, one stands out, one that catches the eye, makes the ears prick up, one that makes you take notice.

This particular TV advert began with a 'smart, casual' dressed young man (or stereotype/demographic), and in his hand he had a handle. Wherever he placed this handle, it opened doors, doors to the beach, a bar, a ski resort, it opened the way to wherever he wanted to go.

What a wonderful concept. Who needs magic carpets, brass lamps or wishes upon that impossible to reach star when you have the way to open the door to your every dream in your hand?

And where did this handsome young man get this wondrous, fantasy fulfilling, 'Jim'll Fix It' handle come from?

    From a Ford!
