Mountains can be difficult to climb. We need perseverance, determination and a ‘never say die’ attitude. We nod our heads in agreement, of course. These are traits that all people endeavour to acquire. Being persistent in the face of great danger and adversity sounds courageous.
But I will be the first to admit that pain and discomfort often make reaching the summit seem unattainable. So what do I do? Change my perspective. I focus on my goal. Pain, fear and discomfort only serve to provide the impetus to continue. They are things to be overcome. Then, it’s an easy, downhill climb.
