  • Hurt we recoil wounded, what we desire we cannot have,
what most we held in trust a hologram.
Should not kings be clearly kingly
    presidential, the heads of state?
    We dress-up to suit occasions.
Yearn a happy ending for unrequited love.

    How we shun the sight,
when the worst of us is shown.
Beastly us is vulgar, cover-up everytime.

America is more than the United States, naturally
everything Asia, Africa, Europe cannot be.
All of the continents in America live
    trial-by-error regrouping
    same as you & me.

Wounded we recoil from truth we will not see
    liberty, equality, fraternity...cannot possibly be.
Everything about us tells us so
Yet we dream the dreamy dream.

    Hurt we recoil wounded.
    We continue to dream.
