  • Who thought that helium balloons and over-sized buntings would help sell a car?

    Why isn't that enormous sign towering over hundreds of shinny vehicles enough?

    Is the idea to create a driver distraction thereby causing accidents in an attempt to generate business?

    Are the road frontages and the traffic lanes which border those businesses considered "first dibs" territory?

    Are each of those identically looking vehicles somehow uniquely different?

    What is the point of having all those cars sitting outside 24/7/365?

    Does the impression that inventory only moves once a year seem counter-intuitive?

    Might the balloons and banners denote the day when the next years' cars are delivered?

    But, no one takes them down and we - the passer-by's - have no idea which day that is.

    Does the "come one - come all, Christian Tent Revival, baby shower is here" appearance, have another origin?

    There's a guy out there, somewhere along auto row, starring at a screen and gripping the edge of his desk.

    His youthful days are spent yet he longs for something, something that he had as a younger man.

    He hears the crowd cheer and feels the pig skin lace against his finger tips.

    A softened mid section slightly tightens as he adjusts the rest of his glasses on the bridge of his nose.

    His declining testosterone encourages his imagination and he recalls a cute cheer leader.

    The day is waning as quickly as his dreams slipped away

    and instead of embracing his change he becomes restless and steps outside

    where the cars passing by become the cheering crowd and the breeze blown balloons and banners

    wave in celebration of his game winning strategy.
