  • Just a song before I go
    A lesson to be learned
Traveling twice the speed of sound
    It's easy to get burned

By Graham Nash, from CSN's "Just a Song Before I Go"
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course, for my last story here, I had to quote a song. Since I have landed at another lovely place that has a flock of Cowbirders already setting things up to make for a smoother transition of Cowbirders over to it - lovely, considerate Cowbirders all - and I have posted my first story there, remembering how the story-making part works, from my time there a few years ago - I think I'm about ready to check out of this joint.

It's been a great run, here. You all have been a part of so much of my life these past five years, and I've gotten to be a part of what you all have shared of yours. Thanks so much, everyone.

After my best efforts to stop the bulldozers from coming in and plowing over the functionality of this place have failed, I'm getting out before they start their plowing. I don't need to be here to see the bitter end of such a beautiful, vibrant thing. I don't think I could take that. My heart's been broken enough - it doesn't need to witness that.
  • I don't have a good taste in my mouth as I go, but I don't like to live in bitterness or any of that, so let me go before I say something I'll regret later. I had a whole story drafted up that I've chosen not to post. It's just not worth it - besides, the one to whom it was aimed probably wouldn't have gotten it, anyway.

    So, why bother?

Thanks for the memories, my friends. This was one hell of a community we all built here. We'll just build it again over on Medium and MeWe.

I'm glad we got to hang here together for a while. Many of us are alighting over on Medium, and forming the community aspect of it on MeWe. Look for Friends of Cowbird, I guess. Jean-Claude and Fellow Traveler seem to have the best skinny on how to get things up and running over there. If you have any questions, please ask them. I think I just want to tell and read stories for awhile, if that's okay.
  • I think I need a break from being the go to guy. I need to slow down a bit, and stop traveling twice the speed of sound. They say it's easy to get burned when you do that.

    I guess that explains everything.

Moo-Chirp, you crazy Cowbirders! (That means "I love you" in Cowbird-speak).
