  • This is a Carnival Mask from Quito, I bought it there a year ago. It sits in my house on an African chair that a gifted young Mexican crafted.

    It looks at me and it seems that the eyes and the mouth of Life stare at me.

    A bit unsettling.

    And I stared at the flat eyes of Life and its open mouth
    with my eyes wide and my mouth hungry,
    so hungry
    for some answers
    from Life.....
