  • This photo is me getting my Bachelor of Social Work in 1996. I was in my forties. I went back and got my Master of Social Work in 2007. I was 50 and my son had just started Kindergarten. I've never been one to think age, or being a woman, was a reason not to do something I want to achieve. So...never-the-less, I have persisted.

I have a mouth and many times it has gotten me in trouble. Never-the-less, I've never felt that was a good reason not to speak my mind.

We think that women have advanced in the USA, AND, maybe we have in some regards - but not enough. When a woman Senator is shut up on the Senate floor for quoting a Civil Rights advocate but then her fellow male senators read the same letter with no consequence...when a President can call whoever he wants derogatory names and no one bats an eyelash. Then when football players at a Baptist College gang rape women and it is covered up by the college and coaches - because they are MEN and FOOTBALL players are SACRED in our society! Excuse me folks - we have not advanced! Where is the women's liberation?

Yes, I wanted a female president because I'm sick of a society that treats women like sex objects and worse. You wondered why millions of women marched - there you have it in a nutshell.

A society that treats women this way is a backwards society. And now we have the biggest sexist male of them all - running the country - hey - that says it all, doesn't it?

Damn your mother, damn your sisters, and damn your wives and girlfriends, - because that's where this is at. Exactly.

    "What?"

    "What is that you say?"

    "Oh."

    - - "That's right! I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!"

PS. To anyone who understands that this is what I'm about and for some reason wants to stay in touch, you can message me and I'll provide my e-mail. If you are offended by this or disagree, then bye-bye. I plan to "persist."
