  • Slow down your feet it's story time, so let's meet at old bookstore corners, new pubs and cafes & city park benches night or day. At bistros & hair salons/barber shops, baseball field
bleachers or other pit stops, like horse corrals and at airport gates or in avocado orchards sitting on crates. There are always places and times for stories, far or near, in person
face-to-face or by electronics we hear what comes from out of our brains, but originates in the heart stories never really end as long as you give them a start, yes, slow down your feet it's story time, so let's meet at old book store corners, new pubs and cafes & city park benches night or day - bjf (c)

Long ago in another time, forgotten words, without a rhyme, not on paper, but instead, kept in memory, in one's head, a story perhaps of Kings & Queens or secret lovers exchanging rings or children playing in golden sands, on distant shores in far-off lands. Passed on only by word-of-mouth travelled north, east, west & south, from the young to the old, not in stores where books are sold, but in the mind and in the heart for that's where all the stories start, of those forgotten words, without a rhyme, long ago in another time ~ bjf (c)

~ Oral Tradition ~ When was the last time you heard a ~ story ~ not on TV, or radio, or cinema, or audio CD, nor on laptop or desktop computer, not on IPod, not by text on cellular mobile phone, not on MP3, not on Kindle or any other electronic means, not even read from a paper book ~ but ~ physically told in person, from mouth to ears, eye to eyes contact, in which the storyteller has memorized it, all of it. Here's the thing, there's still time to carry on oral tradition, there's time, try one & share from your heart that's the best source ~ bjf (c) guilty that I am sharing this not face-to-face with you, but, hey I'd like to!

~ Stories of the Ancestors ~ Sacred land, waters & sky, home of the buffalo, salmon & creatures that fly. Long are the stories of Spotted Elk & Standing Bear if you listen carefully you will hear them dance in the air. Rich are the stories of Crazy Horse & Black Hawk, but you must listen intently & refrain from all talk. Deep are the stories of Sitting Bull & Red Cloud, if you listen with your heart only then you'll feel proud. Sacred land, waters & sky, home of the buffalo, salmon & creatures that fly ~ bonnie j. flach (c)
