  • It is a long, lonely road to traditionally publishing as a debut author. There are many people I have to thank who took a chance on me in that process: my husband, Bryant Bernhard and my children, Cecil and Alicia; my agent, Jeanie Loiacono, and my publisher, Texas Review Press and my immediate contact there, Kim Davis. I am thankful for my Catholic faith, which I have written about in the novel. Father White and the people of Ireland have remained dear to my heart as I celebrated their unique stories in the novel. There are the many friends who championed me early in the journey. I am thankful for their love and support.

A Good Girl is now available on presale status with Amazon. I am excited, but also exhausted. Writing is hard work! The most important lesson I learned as a writer is to NEVER give up. Don't let anyone tell you it is a waste of time. You must write from your heart and soul. Write what is true to the human family. Hemingway was the first author to proclaim this. Believe in yourself. Tell your unique story to the world!
