  • Back to our happy place. Later today, we will fly out of Baltimore-Washington International, Orlando-bound, for 6 days of fun and sun, and nothing but sun and fun.

A couple of notes of interest. The crowds in DC yesterday, for the inaugural, were quite sparse, no matter what you might have heard, otherwise. The protests were mostly very civil, aside from an anarchist group that always raises a ruckus in town, whenever anything is happening (G-8, etc), broke a few store windows, and got all over the news, looking like the protestors were doing that. No – the protestors mostly protested appropriately. The anarchists created havoc. Just to get the record straight. My son was there.

Today – ah, today is quite another storty. Record crowds swarming the district, all metro stations are full to over-flowing, all of the parking lots at Vienna Metro are filled up (never happens on a weekend – ever), 2200 buses are parked in RFK Stadium, and I believe the Guinness Book World Record for Pussy Hats in one place is being smashed, today. Phrase heard most often on the streets – “Grab this, Donald!”
  • I’m just reporting it as I see it. One other thing I have noted about events this week. While many may not be happy about the change in administration, I have noticed that it has re-energized the proletariat. People are waking up and taking part in their own democracy, starting to be the change they want to see. If it took this – well, maybe it was worth it.

Being awake and participating is much better than being asleep and assuming “they” have your best interests at heart. Since the current “they” so clearly don’t, everyone is waking up. Don’t worry – it’s not too late. In fact – it’s right on time.

Let’s all make America great again. Not for the government – but for the people. If we each do our part, in our little patch of the landscape, perhaps together, we can overcome all adversity.

I still believe – do you?
    First shot - yesterday
    Second shot - Obama's Inauguration
    Any questions?
