  • Out of the North Window she stared.
Behind the white, tiered blinds and navy curtains a girl sat waiting for something.
She wanted so badly for a rock to strike her window or for some wind to come and crack the glass that kept her so hidden from the eye.
She watched as the Earth moved on without her.
    Storms raged and lightning struck.
    Snow fell and sunshine beamed.
    People moved on too.
    She saw kisses and hugs.
    She saw anger and rage.
    She saw love and joy.
    She saw her dream.
She saw the dream she kept in her nightstand drawer fly through the winds from person to person constantly evading her fingertips.
    She shut the window.
