  • The snow lies blue white upon the ground

Sparkling today in the sun which was hidden

Behind clouds since November of this year

I am alone with my fire and my hearth

I watch the flames consume the wood

From my beloved rainforest just as it

Always was from the beginning for

Our ancient ones , what fears I feel

As it draws me in to warm my bones

Are quelled as I grow sleepy in its heart flame

Winter solstice draws near to the long night

The flames grow avoricous to devour

The once living tree that gives itself to me

In this my solitary moment , I owe so much

To the grandeur of nature on this

On this my day of divine nature worship

She gives me everything today and always

Today as the darkest night draws near.
