  • I understand the importance of knowing we are One....
I get yoga, meditation, clean diet, retreats, positive intent, positive thought....
    being centered
    I get it
    I do
there is healing and power in practice and ritual
we see a better way and maybe even live to live it
    and then now what?

What will we do with all the wisdom..?
    the peace
    the quiet mind
our good fortune in being able to seek and sometimes find such gifts...

Do we look around the world and say it's not real?
    It's an illusion
    It's a dream

Do we ignore suffering and whisper
nodding like we're sages...it's their karma?
    it's meant to be
    it's biblical?
    it's them

Do we only talk of the despair and injustice and wars and hunger and slave labor and coal and big oil and corporate prisons and rape and corporate everything with the like minded....
    and maybe not even them?

    Am I too silent?
    do you think
    I think it's scary
    to speak out
    we might disagree
    you might yell
    I might too
    you might turn your back
cover your eyes and cover your ears
    I might even lose you
    or yikes!
    maybe I'll bore you....
    .
    Speaking out is scary
    Silence...
    silence is golden
    silent is in good taste
    tastes good
unless to be silent is to be complicit
    then the taste is bitter...
