  • Grief. Sweet disbelief. Leonard Cohen's words, his music, have accompanied me, and so many of us, all our adult lives.

My countryman. A mensch. A model of solitude, gratitude, and connection. Steady, in the chaos.

I took this photograph, this past August of 2016, in Quebec City, re-visiting a park near the train station which has numerous chairs with quotes from English and French Quebec poets.

It was raining; the rain stopped.

But the chair was still wet, with Leonard Cohen's words.
