  • if i could touch the highest leaf on the highest tree or soar in the mist on a cloudy day
if i could reach the limits of my endurance and race beyond my own expectations
if i could touch the inner boundaries of my heart and blossom above any preconceived notion of what should be
if i could flutter, flap and forge on, the wind beneath my wings
if i could leave my legacy behind to live on, despite all the odds to the contrary,
if i could do all these things, would i be a wonder?

photo: butterfly wings found in my yard. Each year I find a few wings beneath a flowering shrub in the backyard. We have a few Monarchs and Swallowtails from time to time. It saddens me at the end of their season to find their beautiful wings tattered and torn.
