The grading process is complete and we're about to offline the film. It's just over a year and a month since I sat down with Damien to join the project as a producer. A lot of work has gone into fifteen minutes of film.
I hear film often described as 'painting with light'. It's true to an extent but that light has to fall onto a canvas, and how good the light looks has often to do with the canvas it lands on. And that canvas is the work of many, many hands.
I feel sometimes that the canvas is the bit of my life that could use improvement. So when the light flows in it illuminates something other than mud and clutter and past baggage lying about.
Unlike film however, life is an ongoing project, there's less people on board to sort it out for you but there's a much longer period of opportunity to improve the canvas for the incoming light. There is however a final deadline where the story of your life gets published into the universe, mud and light and clutter and space and all that has come to pass. I hope there's enough time to make mine into a more polished projection.
