  • Okay. So, here's me:

I am an introvert who loves a good party.

I am a hermit who likes to rock the night away.

I am the hermit dreading the invitation from the people I do not want to see, who, thank goodness they invited us, because I swear I am not going to stay later than 11, and which hermit has to be dragged out at two in the morning, because someone just put on David Sylvian and Japan with, "I Second That Emotion," and I am damned if I am going home, so early. Who are you people? Yeah, I have to get up in the morning, too, you know.

The hermit who gets up in the morning, the human garden gnome, who sits out in the rain, desiring no company. The stay at home elf, who is surfing for the latest cheapo flights to get the hell out of here, who is this person whose body I inhabit, who won't get her tush off the chair?

I am the investigative reporter who loves to veg and not give a damn. I am the sloth, the sludge, the slug who bounds up from her sloth duvet with the energy of a thousand high-powered mice and pulls her chariot to the airport.

I am the homebody who has to leave home.

I am the rehearser of those "stair wit" comments I never made, but made in my head on the stairwell out, and I have it all clear what I will say the next time which I am not going to, n.f.w., which I go to, and love and can't wait to go again. Just try and make me.

I am an urban girl who owned a farm. A sea level born and bred who lived on a mountain.

I am a sidewalk Susie who loves the sand dunes.

I am a girl from a port, who--well, it's tough for me to be too far from water, but if it comes in a glass and is neighbourly with a nice red and the company is fine....I can't live without movies, I can't live without books, I can't live without sunshine, I have to go out and look and see the world's looks, I have the see the world's faces, so I can hermitize again, to make up and tell their stories.

I love to work with people.

I chose a second life in which I see almost nobody for a good part of my day.

    I am the introverted extrovert.

I am the extroverted lair bunny.

I was born a natural blonde.

    I became a natural brunette.

My oldest friend, N., says I have a blonde personality.

I am a brunette, with an inner blonde, breaking out.

I'd like to have coffee with me, but I'm on the other side of the street, avoiding myself.
