  • Three high school aged boys sitting by their discarded bikes having an ernest debate about religion and death.

A straight, tattooed, hipster couple taking photos of pigeons and complaining how hot it was.

Two men in their twenties sitting on a bench talking about how it was a beautiful day.

A woman in a uniform (security guard? bus driver?) standing in the shade under a tree telling a squirrel that it was a wonderful day.

The boys, in talking of mortality and belief, were in fact trying to work out what it means to be an adult.

The hipsters, wearing matching black skinny jeans and black shirts, were dressed for show rather than for a warm spring day.

The two men smelled strongly of pot and were perhaps chemically inclined to seeing beauty.

The woman was simply enjoying the day. When she realized that I had overheard her talking to a squirrel, she gave me a sheepish, embarrassed smile. I smiled back in reassurance that nothing was wrong, because she was right. It was a wonderful day.
