  • "Fucking Cracker!" The smell of roasting coffee grounds, the morning bite that comes in through the constantly opening door, the well lit corners of the fashionable coffee shop, and the look of a homeless Asian man glaring at me because he said I had taken his seat. (I hadn't). This was the scene that greeted me when I first entered the Panera across from Seattle Central Community College. But a crazy, racist, homeless man was not the only social interaction I had that morning. The other person who talked to me was Jon Rotsler. Jon Rotsler has been with Occupy Seattle since the start and since then has volunteered all of his free time to see the Occupation continue. People like Jon give you a much better perspective on the real range of people participating in Occupy. Unfortunately, the Jon's of our movement are not as easy to see as the homeless, crazy people. They are in the shadows, busy making a difference.
