  • When I started a self portrait adventure, it was an experiment to explore the way I see photography. Now it has become plain old fun. I'm always searching for an interesting reflection with a cool view. In this photo I love how the antique mirror distorts the view slightly and how his collections play a part in the composition.

This photo was taken in the entry hall to P. Allen Smith's garden home near Little Rock, Arkansas. Allen's home is fascinating and you can see his sitting room behind me. If you look closely, you can see on the far back wall of the sitting room is artwork; a giant vegetable which he says is a part of his, "Big Ass Vegetable Series." I happen to love big ass veggies, so am delighted by this memory.
