Apoorva's story reminded me of an incident that occured when my daughter, who was sixteen years old, came into my classroom mid afternoon to tell me she had just been accosted by a flasher.
She was very tearful. Naked bodies are beautiful in an open, natural situation, with consenting adults; but this man had aggressively chosen to scare young women walking around their college.
She waited for me to finish teaching and then we both went to the police station to report the flasher.
A young policewoman took us in to a private room and gently asked Samantha some questions.
Her first question made me laugh despite my annoyance that my daughter was so upset.
"Did he have any outstanding features?" she asked.
