  • I know.
    This is not easy.
    You have tried so hard.
Do you remember when we got here?
    You were so scared.
    So were you, dummy!
Just too tough to admit it.
    It's the city!
It does all that to you and more.
    We lived it all.
    And we can live more.
    I can't.
    You know.
    I don't want to know.
    Find strength.
    What for? Being strong alone?
Because it is what we do.
    This feels so pointless.
    Does everything need a purpose?
    How does that change things?
    Will things change?
    I don't know.
    Where will you go?
    I don't know.
    How can you not know?
I will know when I know.
    I hate your riddles.
    Would you prefer a lie?
    That can't be good.
    I just want more time.
    We don't make time.
    I know.
    Yes you do.
    So it is now.
    Yes it's now.

imagined totally through the long lens in Madison Sqaure Park

I am using Cowbird to share the story of a 15,000 mile road odyssey I took in 2011, which started with me quitting my job in March and setting out in June for a loop around the US and Canada. It's less of a day by day narrative and more of an attempt to tell a story of the story, with some amounts of imagined bits that emerge on looking at the media from the trip, including the more than 1400 images, videos, and audio files collected in my digital time capsule, the Storybox.
