  • When I read tarot cards, I place this symbol in front of my donation jar. It's embroidered on a small bag given me by a photographer friend who died tragically this year. He gave me a jade pendant snug inside. The symbol reminds me to LIVE my life in its moments, all of them - without judgement as to good or bad or happy or sad or glad. I am reminded to trust the small voice that gives me my truths and to be kind and generous with my time and me too. I must decide when to act and when not to act...

The black and white of it reminds me that all of life is a gray area for me that I am a leaf on the river of life. Sometimes I get caught in a whirlpool, and sometimes I rush across the rapids. At other times, I am stuck in the cleft of a rock or gently floating in a calm pool. Then there are the waterfalls!

When to act and when not to act is the issue. Just for today, I will do the next right thing in front of me to do and forget the rest. I will just be since I have forgotten to be a human being and not a human doing lately. It is what it is...
