  • “Laughter yoga?” shouted a smiling gray-haired woman who was moving through the crowd. “Anyone wanna do laughter yoga? Change the vibration? Spread the good energy? Laughter yoga — up front in a couple of minutes.”

A tattered looking African American woman came up to me. “Hey, how you do yoga?” she asked.

“Oh, well, this is laughter yoga,” I said. “I think you just get together and laugh, and then everyone laughs, and you kind of all laugh together.”

“Oh, hell no,” said the woman, and turned to go back to her tent.
