  • On Friday the 22nd of July a tragedy hit the peaceful country of Norway.

A Bomb went off in the heart of Oslo killing 8 people, and injuring several.

The same person responsible for the bombing in Oslo then drove to a political youth camp on an Island called Utøya.

Carrying, among other weapons, a automatic machine gun, and a large amount of ammunition, he started shooting and executing in all 68 people on the island, From the ages of 14-51 years old. The average age of the young people attending was 18 years old.

At 12pm on the 25th there was a nationwide 1 minute silence for the victims. And at 6pm on the same night, 25.07.11, the whole of Norway was mourning together in peace, while the world looked on in disbelief.

As I took this picture I didn't think of what it would look like, I knew it would capture something sad, yet beautiful at the same time.

I turned off my camera, and we all stood there, together, with our red roses in our hands. Listening to the sound of silence.
