  • This is Michael Nephew, or more widely known as Dinkus McGank.

He is homeless and has been in a wheelchair of late due to severe back pain caused by a degenerative disc condition.

Three days ago the pain really flared up and he had to go to the emergency room. When he got out and returned to the canal edge that has been home, he found that someone had stolen the wheels off of his wheelchair and threw the rest of the chair into the canal. Since then he as been unable to move because of the continued pain, sleeping on the grating of the bench platform. His friend Scotty has been staying there with him, making sure he is okay.

This morning Mari Beth and two other co-workers from The REACH Program came down to provide help and care to Dinkus. They were WONDERFUL, you should have seen how happy Denkus was, he just couldn't believe it. They will be picking him up in another hour and taking him to a hotel for three days so he can rest. While there they will assign him a case-worker and begin the process of finding ways to assist him while he recovers.

THANK YOU SO MUCH to The Reach Program!!!
