  • My new novel, "Death Valley," has rolled off the press. When actual physical copies came in my door just last week...Well, you see, I have a terra cotta rabbit who likes to read. All sorts of stuff. She tore at the cardboard packaging on the books, and little bits of box sat in her teeth.

Before I could look at the book myself, the rabbit was nose into the print. A bookworm rabbit!

I fed her a small nip of single malt along with a few celebratory carrots.

The book launch party is tonight, here in Toronto, at an old tavern downtown. The rabbit has promised to bring along a few other big-eared hoppers from the back forty. Dress: atomic casual.
