  • May first is labor day in Germany but it also is the day where May Poles held hostage for beer are returned and families gather together at beer gardens and back yards.

Today in Bavaria, people celebrated spring and the beautiful weather. They celebrated a day off from work and school and they celebrated living life.

As we walked the city, there were no protests or angry people. In Bavaria it felt like any discontent was washed down river with the melting snow.

To help you understand a tiny bit of what it was like today, please listen to a few seconds of Bavaria surrounding the Chinese Turm in the English Garden in the middle of Munich, Germany. This is what it was like all over the region. Happy Germans drinking beer in gardens, eating huge brezn and listening to traditional music.
