  • It is those behaviors having sprouted from the need to find comfort

Those repetitious actions which overlay boredom

Designed from the perspective of survival

As tools forged out of necessity

Like rolling a tremendous weight over logs

Removing that which has past and placing it ahead

As beneficial as turning around and walking backwards

Totally unprepared when the footings is lost

It is those behaviors which once comforted that now condemn

What does it really take to see all the flaws and faults keenly in focus

Tweaking a little here and there and adjusting the aperature

Treating ourselves better than we were treated by others

Honoring those hollow behaviors and laying them to rest

Let them go because they are already dead

Part the curtain and open windows

Feel the penetrating warmth of the sun

Breath deeply the cool spring morning
