  • Great Spirit, help me find compassion without empathy overwhelming me.
I seek strength, not to be greater than my brother, but to fight my greatest enemy
Myself. Make me always ready to come to you with clean hands and straight eyes.
So when life fades, as the fading sunset, my spirit may come to you without shame.

    Great Spirit Prayer

Great Spirit, Chief of all the tribes in our world,
my Guardian and Healer, in your care I shall never lack anything.

You give me quiet resting places, and set up camp for me beside
clear pools of pure water, places of peace and refreshment.

You take away my sorrows, and bring me back into your high pastures
when I wander away. You lead me in the Warrior Way. You keep
my feet on the One Path.

Great Spirit, Medicine Man, who stands at the center of all tribal
councils, when the forests blaze with heat from a thousand suns,
when I must make my way through dangerous valleys, you are
always with me, and I am not afraid. Your songs and your prayers
are a constant comfort to me. Your ways of right conduct sustain
    and protect me.

Even when I am surrounded with the war dances and drums of my
enemies, I sit down in peace at the abundant banquet you have prepared
for me. There is no way to measure the generous provision you make
for me, and there is always more than enough to sustain me.

From sage, lavender, and wild roses, you prepare precious oils for
my head, and fragrant medicines for my parched skin.

Great Spirit, I have your promise for Eternity, that I shall live in the
House of your righteousness and love, and you assure me that I I shall
live with you and serve you in your Home in the Sky, forever and ever.
