  • Downtown La Paz is at almost 4,000 meters above sea level. In feet, this picture is taken somewhere around 12,000-13,000'. When the sun shines at midday, it's not even mad dogs or British men that venture forth without an umbrella.

    When marches happen in direct sunlight, people come prepared - leaving a photographer with the funny impression that one is witnessing a march of the umbrellas.

    I always wonder what their demands are. Less sun? More rain? Better folding conditions?
