  • After four days of the dutiful son act, I needed a fight.

My parents arrived at the cruise ship terminal after 14 days at sea and I was there to pick them up. Dad can drive, but it's better for San Diego if he doesn't. And I missed them; it had been months since our last visit. A four-day tour of dollar stores and Olive Gardens ensued. Other things ensued, so I needed a fight.

Thank you Salty Frog of Imperial Beach for letting me in, fixing me strong drinks, and putting UFC 145 on about 145 screens. Thank you Dana White and associates for putting Jon Jones and Rory MacDonald in with tomato cans of the appropriate weight classes. Thank you Mom and Dad for trying to be more gentle with each other the last couple of days of our visit so my duties could be comported with a minimum of submission moves and silent screams.
