There is talk of an apocalypse and I think the word
is particularly well chosen. Practically everything is
    out of control.

    Gunther Oettinger/EU Energy Commissioner.

If freedom means anything, it means being able
to tell people what they may not want to hear.

    George Orwell

    1. Can you get other people to care the way you do?

    3. These are the days of miracle and wonder. This is a long distance call. The way the camera follows us is slow mo. the way we look to a song. The way we look to a distant constellation that is dying in a corner of the sky. These are the days of miracle and wonder. Don't cry, Baby. Don't cry. Don't cry. (Paul Simon. Late Industrial Age Poet).

    4. Which themes are coming across to you in this performance? You can be honest. No one is watching.

    5. Are you an addict? No, really, I want to know. And while we're at it, how about the company you work for? Companies and organizations can be addicts, too, just like people. How about your nation-state? Nation-states can be addicts. And your planet? Is your planet an addict?

    6. FACT: Throw away an aluminum soft-drink container and you throw away the energy equivalent of half a can of gasoline!

    7. What is consciousness?

    8. A single nuclear submarine costs as much money as the annual education budgets of 23 developing countries with 160 million school-age children!

    9. Television is infrastructure, binding space in shared time, binding variety in shared context. Amythic TV is a mass of statistical, demographic, and actuarial effluvium guided by the marketing paradigm. TV, as a cybernautic tool, is a sub-system within a higher more complex matrix of information processing. It is access fed back to process, and it is planetary.

    10. The biggest problem at Fukushima is that the Reactor #4 building is on the verge of collapsing. Sitting at the top of the building, in a pool that is cracked, leaking, and precarious even without an earthquake, are 1565 fuel rods (give or take a few), some of them “fresh fuel” that was ready to go into the reactor on the morning of March 11th when the earthquake and tsunami hit. If they are MOX fuel, containing 6% plutonium, one fuel rod has the potential to kill 2.89 billion people. If this pool collapses, as Senator Wyden is now saying too, we would face a mass extinction event from the release of radiation in those rods.
