  • We pitched our tent by the lake, it had been a long drive.
The wind picked up so we sat in the car, listening to talk back radio, red wine from the box and a packet of peanuts for dinner.
    The sky blackened...
    So did our conversation...
The lightening flashed showing people wading in the lake poaching trout.
Our raised voices were lost in the thunder,
I went to sleep, the air crackled...
The morning was glaringly bright, punishing my puffy eyes,
I walked to the stream to wash away the night but it was occupied by a rainbow trout.
He was at least 9lb and I laughed... the storm forgotten.
