  • I am reading a novel. A line in Chapter 1: It was a dame, a dame with trouble in her eyes and ecstasy in her pants.

    Got to be the greatest line I've read in a long time. Right out of some cheesy 1930's detective movie. I LOVE noir fiction.

    Same page, further down: I put my hands in the air and started to shout, "Bring on the cancer, bring on the blindness. We haven't had those yet."

    And even further into it: It was purple, pulsating, panting.

    (Get your mind out of the gutter. Wasn't talking about that.)
